Anvil launches first carbon-neutral recycled cotton t-shirt

Anvil Knitwear, the sixth-largest purchaser of organic cotton worldwide, launched a t-shirt that uses less energy and water during production, has a net zero carbon footprint and is made from 69 percent pre-consumer recycled cotton. They are also a manufacturer and marketer of high quality activewear which sells its products primarily into the "imprinted" or "decorated" segment of the U.S. apparel industry.

The AnvilRecycled t-shirt is Certified CarbonFree by Carbonfund.org, the leading nonprofit carbon offset and climate solutions organization. Anvil made the tee carbon-neutral by reducing emissions during the production process and by offsetting emissions. These recycled tees are an innovative, affordable product that has less impact on the environment, reuses leftover materials that most apparel makers see as waste, and avoids the dyeing process saving significant amounts of energy and resources.
