With the arrival of spring and warm weather, many people will be doing some spring cleaning in their closets and may find that their clothes from last year are either too small or they’re just tired of them and want something new. An introduction of a new season is the best time to change up one’s wardrobe and give one’s self a new look.

Since the spring weather begins to bring on the heat, the clothing trends begin to reveal a little more skin. One trend that follows this concept is the sheer and see-through fabrics trend. This fabric is very versatile and can range from being found on casual daytime blouses to elegant evening gowns. This style originates from the 1920s and has also brought another trend from this era along with it.

Springtime also brings about the time of year when girls are attending prom. This is the best time to show one’s style and let everyone know how fashionable one can be. One-shouldered dresses are very popular right now. They are most frequently seen in a Grecian style dress form. These dresses are very simple, but create such an elegant and sophisticated look. They can be completed by a messy up-do hairstyle, so that the hair does not distract from the dress.

Men are also attending proms at this time of year and also need to be in style. Bow ties are very popular right now and add a very modern, yet retro look to an outfit. There is also quite a bit of mix-matching with tuxedo jackets and pants, as opposed to going with matching ones. I have seen many ivory-colored jackets paired up with black pants. This look still says classic, but it also created an edge so that it is not too boring. Oxford shoes are the perfect way to finish off the look, and these shoes can be found in many different colors and textures!

Many trends over the past two years have been very basic and involved neutral colors. However, this season many bold patterns and prints are making their way out! Floral patterns are very trendy right now; they are most commonly seen on sheer blouses and 1950s style dresses. Whichever way someone decides to go, the floral print works!

Another pattern that is very popular right now is a tribal pattern. Many Indian-related designs can be found on jewelry and shoes, as well as on casual summer sundresses.

Now, not everyone is into formal wear and dresses, but everyone does wear jeans at some point. The destroyed jean look is coming back in. However, now the jeans are straight-legged and ripped all over, as opposed to boot-cut and ripped only in a few spots. This look gives a very edgy and fierce look to an outfit. A basic pair of straight-legged jeans can also be rolled up three or four times so that they lie just about 2 inches from the ankle. This look is known as the “boyfriend jeans” trend, but can be worn on males and females. This style can go wrong very easily; the jeans have got to have a nice fit to them and they should be worn with a top and shoes that are very basic and simple, such as a solid color T-shirt. If worn incorrectly, the boyfriend jeans trend can be a total disaster!
